Lead Data Analyst

2019-Present

Starting in July of 2019, I have been acting as Lead Data Analyst on a contract team at Geisinger Health Systems working on a Data Warehouse migration project.  We are moving an MSSQL analytic platform to Apache Hive.

  • Worked to build a successful SCRUM team to execute 2 week sprints designed to migrate report analytics and data sources to the Hive.

  • Acted as a mentor to junior analysts in all aspects of the task, ranging from technical coding to managing assignments using DevOps.

  • Helped design and publish Work Instructions and Policy guides for data governance

Director of Development

2016 - 2019

During my tenure as Director of Development, I led a team of 7 developers supporting all aspect of Marketing, Sales, Scheduling, Production, and Delivery for a mid-sized manufacturing firm in the Direct Marketing arena.  We serviced numerous fortune 500 companies in Finance, Healthcare, and the Non-Profit sectors.

I worked closely with Ownership and Senior Management to architect the growth of the company into new markets and new production lines.  I designed and directed the build of hardware and software to support the business, and worked closely with Systems and Security to ensure compliance with SOC2 for finance and HiTrust for healthcare, and assisted in the design, implementation, and testing of disaster recovery plans for the business

  • Managed SharePoint server upgrade from legacy WSS 3.0 to Server 2013, including hardware design, data migration, and theme creation

  • Directed the implementation of new industry data management programs for finished goods logistics management and B2B marketing data analysis

  • Designed and deployed new MS SQL Server architecture for business and migrated multiple servers from 2005 to 2012 server.

  • Design purchase and build of high volume SQL Server 2012 systems for implementation of product tracking systems for 500 million + finished goods inventory items.

Manager Systems Development

2001 - 2016

As the manager of systems development, I was responsible for all aspects of software development to support the business operations group.  Software Design LifeCycle to test and implementation.  I worked closely with internal and external customers for requirements specification, then translated the requirements to SDLC and followed through to completion, including test and maintenance.
Additionally, I was key in the implementation of source control by implementing Team Foundation for the development group, and oversaw the implementation of SharePoint and SSRS for the organization

  • Directly managed rapid deployment of USPS program at all production facilities.  Converted mission critical applications to new systems in 4 months, resulting in 40% reduction in finished goods delivery time and 30% reduction in finished goods warehousing requirements.

  • Coordinated the system setup, implementation and end user training at new production facility in El Paso, TX.  Helped identify required support staff and fill positions.  Designed training materials to bring new facility up to capacity, increasing company wide production capacity by 25%.

Senior Business Systems Analyst

2000 - 2001

Project Lead for software systems implementation during ownership transition.

  • Designed and implemented order batching process to reduce orders for pull from 10,000 per day to 2,500 per day.

  • Developed custom solution for RF based label printing, reducing material handling movements by 15%.

Programming Manager

1998 - 2000

Responsible for three programmers at two locations. Managed software requirements in support of production, scheduling, and distribution.

  • Researched and managed transition to competitive finished goods carrier resulting in $15,000 per month savings.

  • Purchased, installed, and implemented operating system upgrade from UNIX based to NT for legacy MRP, 70 end users.

  • Designed, built, and implemented barcode import/export specifications for working with Mexican and American Import Officials resulting in 40% reduction in processing time per shipment.

Process Engineer

1996 - 1998

Work with upper management to design and implement production control systems.

  • Designed Excel based shop floor schedule integrating data from MAPICS B MRP system.

  • Designed and implemented ticket-less order processing system resulting in manual data entry reduction for an annual cost savings of $250,000.
